Samsung’s wearable adventure began in 1999 with the SPH-WP10, the world’s first commercialized watch phone.
Samsung recently unveiled its Galaxy Ring at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Consequently, in celebration, they’ve crafted an infographic detailing their wearables’ evolution. Beginning in 1999 with the SPH-WP10, the journey was groundbreaking as the world’s first watch phone. Shortly after, in 2000, the SPH-S100 brought text and voice features to the forefront. By 2003, the technology advanced to include a color OLED display in the Watch Phone. Then, in 2005, Samsung expanded into Bluetooth headsets, continuously refining its wrist wearables since. Consequently today, the Galaxy Watch6 series and the budget-friendly Galaxy Fit3 stand as the culmination of these efforts, with the Galaxy Buds2 Pro leading their audio innovations.
Furthermore, the Galaxy Ring introduces a novel chapter in wearable technology, eagerly anticipated to be fully revealed at Samsung’s Unpacked event in Paris next year, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6.
