New feature from Google: Personal information and photos can be removed from search results

Users will now be able to remove their personal information from Google Search.

Google has released a new update that will allow users to identify and remove personal information (address, phone number, email) from search results more quickly. When the firm discovers that this information is available on the web, it will warn users and allow them to request that it be removed from Search.

You can now erase information that you do not want shown.

The feature is an update to the “results about you” dashboard, which was first introduced in September of last year. Users will no longer have to manually search for their personal information on Google. By entering your personal information into the dashboard, websites with matching results will be displayed, and users will be able to assess each page and submit removal requests.

This advancement is especially significant because earlier, you had to look for your personal information and then manually request removal. The update will save consumers time while also preventing unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information.

Google is giving customers the option to enable push alerts in order to alleviate their fears about future results. These notifications notify users when new results are uploaded. Users will also be able to track their requests and check their approved, denied, and ongoing requests through a portal.

It should be noted that not all information is totally erased!

However, removing something from Google does not guarantee that it is permanently removed from the internet. This information can still be accessible and read by others via the web pages where it is stored. Google has restrictions on the types of search results it may and cannot alter, and it is not permitted to interfere with results relating to governments or educational institutions. To keep your personal information entirely secure, you must also take care to monitor and update your information on websites directly.

To summarize, this upgrade makes it faster and easier to locate and delete personal information from Google. The tool is presently available in English in the United States, but Google claims it will soon be available in other nations and languages.
