Dubai — BNY has appointed Madiha Sattar as Managing Director and Growth Ventures Partner, based in the United Arab Emirates, as part of a newly created global role within the company.
In her new position, Sattar joins the leadership team of BNY Growth Ventures, a business unit focused on building new companies at the intersection of technology, data, and investment solutions, leveraging BNY’s existing platforms.
Sattar brings more than 20 years of industry experience, spanning operating and strategy roles across the financial services and technology sectors. Most recently, she worked at Careem, where she built and led several new businesses, including initiatives in B2B and B2C fintech. Careem is widely recognised as the MENA region’s largest technology exit.
Prior to Careem, Sattar held roles at J.P. Morgan and McKinsey & Company in New York.
She is also among a group of 25 experts selected by Dubai’s leadership to advise on strategic sectors aligned with the city’s long-term economic vision.
BNY has increased its focus on technology-driven growth initiatives in recent years, including an investment in Abu Dhabi-based fintech firm Alpheya, which is developing an end-to-end wealth management platform for asset and wealth managers in the Middle East.
