WhatsApp Beta for Android Unveils New UI With Material Design 3 Elements
WhatsApp has been consistently introducing new features and improvements to its platform, with recent developments including easier uncompressed media sharing and AI-generated stickers. Now, the messaging giant is working on a significant design overhaul for its Android app, as revealed in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.13.16.
Updated Material Design 3 UI
The revamped WhatsApp beta for Android showcases a refreshed Material Design 3 user interface. In this new design, the app’s top bar is entirely white, while other user interface elements are in WhatsApp’s signature green color, the same shade used in its logo. Additionally, the beta release introduces a new font for WhatsApp’s branding at the top. These changes collectively provide WhatsApp with a more contemporary appearance and user experience.
Improved Chat Management
To enhance the management of user chats, the updated WhatsApp app features chat filters at the top. These filters allow users to easily sort and view their unread, personal, or business messages. While chat filters had previously made an appearance in WhatsApp’s beta builds, the latest iteration comes with a refreshed look. These filters are expected to become even more valuable when WhatsApp introduces multi-account support.

Continued Development
It’s important to note that WhatsApp’s redesigned interface is still in the development phase, so further alterations are anticipated before the final version is released. As the design progresses through its development stages, it is expected to be made available to a wider audience of beta testers before a public release.
