Apple will use a new patent to prevent phone scratches

With this patent, Apple aims to use a combination of scratch-resistant materials in iPhone chassis.

Apple is planning a new measure to prevent scratches, which are one of the most vexing issues for iPhone owners. According to a recent patent, the company intends to produce scratch-resistant iPhone chassis.

Although most users take precautions to preserve their iPhones from scratches, scratches will undoubtedly occur on screens, stainless steel frames, and even the back of the phone with time. Apple has secured a new patent for “Spatial Composites” in order to solve this problem.

Apple examines the qualities and problems of many materials in the patent. Metal is scratch, notch, and break resistant, yet it can interfere with radio signals. Ceramic is radio signal permeable but fragile. Plastic is radio signal permeable but prone to scratches and notches.

Apple intends to use a combination of scratch-resistant polymers in the iPhone chassis with this patent. This will make iPhones more scratch-resistant. According to the business, the materials can be stacked in a specific distance range within the chassis.

It’s unknown when and which iPhone models will incorporate this technology. Users can, however, secure their iPhones with cases or by using the AppleCare+ service.
