Musk, who earlier stated that artificial intelligence development should be paused because it could lead to the “destruction of civilization,” outlined his goal to produce a safer artificial intelligence during the Twitter Spaces event. Rather than directly moralizing AI, he emphasized that xAI’s goal is to develop a “maximally curious” AI.
“If AI attempts to understand the true nature of the universe, this may be the best option in terms of AI safety,” Musk added. Because I believe humanity is far more fascinating than non-humanity, xAI will assist humanity.”
