Zoom’s AI Companion to Offer Summaries for Late Joiners!

Zoom AI Companion’s new capabilities provide many benefits before or after attending meetings.

Zoom has announced a series of new updates to its AI Companion artificial intelligence tool. These updates will help users increase functionality and make meetings more efficient.

What is Zoom AI Companion?

Zoom AI Companion is the artificial intelligence tool on Zoom’s video conferencing platform. This tool provides users with smarter and more efficient meetings. The company announced that starting this fall, users will be able to use this service more broadly. Importantly, the AI Companion service will not require an additional cost for users who already pay for the video meeting service.

This update will expand the use of Zoom AI Companion to different parts of the platform. This includes Team Chat, Meetings, Phone, Email, Whiteboard, and additional future features. Some features will be available immediately, while others will arrive in the coming months.

New features and improvements

Zoom AI Companion’s new capabilities provide many benefits before or after joining meetings. For example, if you need to join a delayed Zoom meeting, AI Companion’s new features allow you to ask questions from the side panel, helping you join the meeting quickly.

So after the meeting, it automatically reviews recordings and highlights key moments. It can also automatically generate meeting summaries. It can also answer specific questions about the meeting content and automatically generate summaries. It can also take next steps for participants by identifying important information. However, this feature needs to be enabled by the meeting host.

By next spring, the AI tool will have the ability to provide feedback on your performance in meetings and improve your speaking and presentation skills, Zoom said.

Data privacy

Zoom says users will have control over whether to enable or disable these new features. It also emphasized that customer voice, video or other material is not used to train the AI tool and that it collects no such data. This is important to alleviate data privacy concerns.

With AI Companion, Zoom aims to offer its users a richer video conferencing experience. Zoom users are eagerly awaiting when these updates will be available. Zoom continues to further strengthen AI Companion to help its users manage meetings more effectively and improve their communication skills.
