New Update: Production of MediaTek’s 3nm Chips with TSMC Begins; Mass Production Scheduled for 2024

MediaTek Unveils 3nm Chip for 2024 Devices

MediaTek has achieved a significant milestone by developing its first chip using the 3nm process in collaboration with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). This advanced chip will be integrated into MediaTek’s Dimensity SoC, carrying forward the Dimensity brand.

Enhanced Performance and Efficiency

The 3nm chip promises substantial improvements, including an 18% increase in processing speed, a 32% reduction in power consumption, and a 60% boost in logic density compared to the 5nm process. These advancements will lead to more efficient and powerful mobile devices.

Availability in 2024

While the chip is expected to make its debut in the second half of 2024, MediaTek will have time to further refine and enhance the production process. As processors become smaller and more powerful, MediaTek’s 3nm chip represents a significant step forward in mobile technology.

This development positions MediaTek to compete in the fast-evolving mobile chip market and meet the increasing demands of future smartphone users.
