Inflection’s Pi continues to become a major competitor in the market for AI-based assistants.
Inflection announced that the Pi is now competitive with OpenAI’s GPT-4, advancing AI-based technologies. The announcement was shared with Axios by Mustafa Suleyman, the company’s CEO, and received a lot of attention.
Suleyman said that Inflection’s new model, version 2.5, which the startup has been using in recent weeks, delivers similar quality results using 40% less educational computing power than GPT-4. This updated tool is particularly impressive in areas such as math, college-level science and coding.
These developments show how Inflection is competing with strong competitors in the industry. Taking on big players such as Google, Microsoft and OpenAI, startup promotes Pi as a personal, warm and friendly chatbot.
The startup also showed Pi’s user growth. The startup claims 1 million daily and 6 million monthly active users and over 4 billion messages exchanged on Pi.
Inflection’s business model envisions generating revenue from Pi, which is currently free, but it is also considering other revenue streams in the future, such as subscription fees and progress-based pricing.
