Anthropic’s Super Bowl advertising campaign appears to be paying off, helping its AI chatbot Claude climb into the top 10 apps on the U.S. App Store.
According to data from market intelligence provider Appfigures, Claude jumped from No. 41 to No. 7 in the days following the Super Bowl — its highest ranking to date.
The ads featured darkly comedic scenarios highlighting chatbot misuse, positioning Claude as a safer alternative with a “no ads” pitch. The timing also coincided with Anthropic’s release of its latest Opus 4.6 model, which further boosted attention toward the app.
Appfigures estimates Claude recorded around 148,000 U.S. downloads across iOS and Android between Sunday and Tuesday, representing a 32% increase compared to the previous three-day period.
Claude’s mobile app initially launched in 2024 but struggled to match the early momentum of competitors like ChatGPT. This recent surge suggests Anthropic may be gaining stronger traction in the consumer AI market.
