Apple iPhone software update iOS 27 expected to introduce new AI-powered features and improved performance

Cupertino, California — Apple is preparing to introduce its next major iPhone software update, iOS 27, with a stronger focus on artificial intelligence, performance improvements, and connectivity upgrades, according to reports.

The update is expected to be previewed at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2026, with a public release later in the year alongside new iPhone models.

Unlike iOS 26, which brought significant visual changes, iOS 27 is reported to prioritise speed, stability, and system refinement, with Apple aiming to deliver a smoother and more reliable user experience.

A major area of development is expected to be Apple’s AI strategy, with expanded “Apple Intelligence” capabilities across core apps and services. Reports suggest that Siri could receive a significant upgrade, improving contextual understanding and conversational interaction.

iOS 27 is also expected to introduce additional connectivity features, including preparations for satellite-based 5G support in future devices. The software may also include enhancements designed to support new form factors, such as a potential foldable iPhone.

Apple has not officially confirmed details of iOS 27 ahead of WWDC, and features may change before the final release.
