Visual changes
Apple Watch Ultra 2 stands out with its durable design and titanium shell. The Watch 9 retains the overall design of previous Apple smartwatches. Although the Ultra 2 has a lighter design, Apple has used new fabric straps.
Technical improvements
Both watches feature a new S9 SiP (System in Package) and ultra-wideband chip. The Ultra 2 supports double-tap to make things like phone calls easier, while the Watch 9 again delivers an impressive display with a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits. Watch 9 is also available in a new pink color option.
Double touch feature
Both watches support double touch. This feature is similar to Assistive Touch but offers a more contextual use. Users can swipe through stacks of new smart widgets and edit times. In addition, the double tap feature also supports functions such as controlling the camera.
User experience
On the new Ultra 2 watch, Apple introduces a new modular watch face that gives users access to more data. In addition, users can customize the bezels to show measurements such as depth or height.
