During a Friday economic discussion, the leader stated that China should do so to help modernize the country’s industrial system and achieve strategic advantage in future development and international competitiveness.
China’s internet authority published proposed guidelines for governing services such as ChatGPT and Bard, and Chinese enterprises have developed their own models. The United States has taken steps to impede China’s AI growth by blocking shipments of sophisticated semiconductors used to train AI models, but such restrictions have had little impact on China’s tech industry.
