Xiaomi Unveils CyberDog 2: Next-Gen Robot Dog with Advanced Features
Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has revealed its latest innovation, CyberDog 2, the successor to its first-generation robot dog launched in 2021. This new version boasts significant design and technological upgrades, marking a leap forward in the realm of robotic companions.
Striking Redesign and Compact Form
In contrast to its predecessor’s appearance, CyberDog 2 flaunts a more captivating design. With a completely revamped body, it now resembles a Doberman, complete with ears on either side of its head, lending it a lifelike appearance. Moreover, this version is smaller and lighter, weighing just 8.9 kg and standing at 36.7 cm tall, making it considerably more compact than its golden retriever-inspired predecessor.
Enhanced Mobility and Intelligence
Xiaomi has harnessed its in-house developed CyberGear micro-actuators to significantly enhance the mobility of CyberDog 2. This empowers the robot to move with greater agility and execute complex maneuvers, including continuous somersaults, showcasing remarkable agility.
The true standout feature of CyberDog 2 is its intelligence. Equipped with an array of 19 different sensors, this robotic dog possesses capabilities akin to vision, touch, and hearing. Its suite of sensors includes RGB and AI-enhanced cameras, a LiDAR sensor, an ultrasonic sensor, among others. These sensors allow CyberDog 2 to emulate actions such as following its user, as well as simulating activities like eating and drinking. Additionally, the presence of the NX processor and two coprocessors grants it an impressive combined computing power of 21 TOPS.
Priced at approximately $1790 (12,999 yuan), CyberDog 2 is set to hit the Chinese market soon, promising a thrilling experience for technology enthusiasts.
