Redmond, Washington — Microsoft confirmed Tuesday that it has deployed a security update following a temporary authentication disruption affecting multiple cloud-based services.
The company said the issue impacted user access to select enterprise applications hosted on its cloud platform, primarily during a limited time window.
In a statement, Microsoft noted that the disruption was caused by a configuration error within its authentication infrastructure and not by a cyberattack or unauthorized access.
Services were gradually restored after mitigation steps were applied, and the company said it is conducting a post-incident review to prevent recurrence.
Microsoft added that customer data integrity was not compromised during the incident.
