Samsung is Launching Fastest-Ever LPDDR5X DRAM!

Samsung unveiled new LPDDR5X chips tailored for AI applications and capable of industry-leading performance. Samsung’s 12-nanometer-class manufacturing process produces these 10.7-gigabit-per-second chips, the smallest LPDDR memory chips.

Samsung breaks new ground in low-power double data rate (LPDDR), the standard for low-power SDRAM memory chips for mobile applications and power-constrained devices. Furthermore, the new LPDDR5X chips deliver everything AI algorithms love and need – faster, bigger and more efficient.

LPDDR5X

Samsung’s LPDDR5X chips boost performance in excess of 25% and capacity above 30%. The company’s “customized” energy-saving technology for LPDDR5X chips allow power supplies to match workloads.

To conclude, the new LPDDR5X DRAMs enable longer battery life in smartphones, while servers and data centers can minimize total cost of ownership (TCO) by reducing the energy bill for data processing tasks. Samsung suggests that AI applications can effectively utilize the new technology in both native, portable devices and server-based infrastructures.
