VOITERM announced that it has developed Turkey’s first closed circuit electronic election system.
Following the announcement by the President of the Supreme Electoral Board Ahmet Yener that “Turkey must switch to electronic elections”, VOITERM, one of Turkey’s technology companies, has developed Turkey’s first closed-circuit electronic election system.
Turkey’s first closed-circuit electronic election system announced
This system includes two main components: the voting device and the server. Cengiz Pişirici, Founder and General Manager of VOITERM, said, “We have made a more advanced version of the secure election application in the USA ready for use as a result of the R&D work of Turkish engineers.”
How does it work?
VOITERM’s electronic voting system directs the voter to the candidate selection screen by scanning the barcode code (such as Turkish ID card, membership card with barcode) on the device. When the voter casts his/her vote, the printer on the device prints the ‘voted’ information of the candidate and this information is also stored on the digital server. Thus, duplicate votes are prevented, while election and voter security is ensured through cryptographic encryption algorithms. In addition, this system can reduce paper costs and speed up the voting and counting processes.
