Twitter began barring non-logged-in users from reading tweets, profiles, or other information yesterday. Elon Musk has now stated that Twitter is restricting the quantity of tweets that users with an account can access in an even more foolish decision.
Elon has responded to the criticism by raising the upper ceiling to a whopping:
Verified accounts receive 8000 posts per day, unverified accounts receive 800 posts per day, and new unverified accounts receive 400 posts per day.
Musk announced the move on Twitter on Saturday morning, so you might not be able to see it if you’ve already reached your daily Twitter limit. Twitter is adopting these adjustments, according to Musk, as “temporary limits to address extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation.”
Here are the new restrictions:
Verified accounts are only allowed to read 6000 posts each day.
Unverified users are limited to 600 daily posts.
The number of new unverified accounts accepted every day is limited to 300.
So, if you pay $8 per month for Twitter Blue, you can view ten times as many posts per day as someone who does not subscribe to the extortion service.
