Xiaomi Revolutionary Smart Factory: 24/7 Operation Without Human Intervention

Xiaomi has unveiled its fully automated smart production lines, showcasing factories that operate 24/7 without human intervention. CEO Lei Jun highlighted these advanced systems on social media, emphasizing their self-diagnosis and optimization capabilities.

Hyper IMP: The Brain of Xiaomi’s Production

Xiaomi’s Hyper IMP (Intelligent Manufacturing Platform) continuously enhances production efficiency and resolves challenges autonomously. Thus, Lei Jun noted that all primary processes across their 11 production lines are fully automated, driven by proprietary software developed in-house.

Cutting-Edge Smart Phone Production Facility

Located in Beijing’s Changping district, Xiaomi’s new plant is designed for next-generation smartphone manufacturing. The facility, equipped with high automation and micron-level dust collection systems, ensures a pristine environment and rapid production rates. Moreover, it spans 81,000 square meters and represents a $330 million investment, with an annual capacity of 10 million flagship smartphones like the MIX Fold 4 and MIX Flip, producing a phone every three seconds.

The Core of Xiaomi’s Smart Factories: Xiaomi Pengpai Platform

The “Xiaomi Pengpai Intelligent Manufacturing Platform” is a self-developed system enabling factory equipment to self-diagnose, optimize workflows, and manage the entire production process digitally, from raw materials to delivery. This technology significantly boosts factories’ self-improvement and adaptability.

Xiaomi’s Position in the Global Market

According to TrendForce’s Q1 2024 report, Xiaomi holds the third-largest market share globally, following Samsung and Apple. Despite past inventory challenges, Xiaomi, with its sub-brands Redmi and Poco, produced 41.1 million units, strengthening its market position.

Conclusion

Xiaomi’s advancements in smart manufacturing not only enhance production efficiency but also mark significant strides in technology and innovation. These developments are set to further solidify Xiaomi’s standing in the global smartphone market.
