Tesla’s New Optimus Robot Can Hold Eggs Without Breaking Them!

Tesla’s latest advances in robotics are highlighted by the second generation Optimus robot. This new robot model shows more dexterity and grace than its predecessors. Thanks to actuators and sensors designed by Tesla, Optimus robot can now move more gracefully. Optimus Robot’s neck can move with two degrees of freedom and walk 30% faster, mimicking the geometry of human feet.

The second generation of Optimus has a sleeker design and Tesla has reduced the robot’s weight by 10 kilograms without compromising its functionality. This model has improved balance and full body control. The robot can squat down and stand up again, as seen in the video. One of the biggest improvements has been made to the hands, which now offer 11 degrees of freedom and can move faster. Optimus can move precisely enough to pick up an egg and gently put it down without breaking it.

But these mechanical advances are just part of Tesla’s steps to make the robot usable in the real world. The company aims to design Optimus as a “general-purpose, bipedal, humanoid robot” that can operate safely and independently, performing dangerous, repetitive or tedious tasks. Achieving this goal requires powerful artificial intelligence. Given the problems Tesla has had with AI features in its cars, it could take years to achieve this goal. In fact, the company has recalled almost all vehicles sold in the US to fix problems with its Autopilot system.
