At CES 2024, Honda showcased its vision for future electric vehicles (EVs) with the introduction of two concept EV models under the 0 Series: the Saloon sedan and the Space-Hub minivan. The Saloon is set to enter the North American markets in 2026 and subsequently reach buyers in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, South America, and Africa. These vehicles will feature Honda’s redesigned ‘H’ logo, exclusively used for the company’s EV series.
The Saloon is described as the flagship concept EV, boasting an aerodynamic design and a low-to-the-ground structure. The Space-Hub, on the other hand, has a more box-like design with seating arrangements that allow passengers to face each other. Honda did not divulge more details about the spacious interior of the Space-Hub or confirm if a vehicle inspired by this concept will be produced.
Both models will incorporate advanced driver-assist systems matched with Honda’s Sensing Elite software. By the end of the decade, the 0 Series is expected to gain autonomous driving features integrated with artificial intelligence. Additionally, Honda plans significant improvements in battery technology. These enhancements include the ability to fast-charge the battery from 15% to 80% in just 15 minutes and maintain battery degradation below 10% over 10 years. These goals are ambitious for a company somewhat late to the EV market.
