The Maybelline Beauty app will offer Teams users 12 different custom looks and a choice of digital makeup color options.
Microsoft has launched a new feature for Teams users in conjunction with Maybelline, a world-renowned cosmetics company. This feature, virtual makeup filters, will function similarly to TikTok’s “Bold Glamor” feature, as well as other social media sites that offer appearance-altering effects.
The Maybelline Beauty app for Teams will provide users with 12 various personalized looks, as well as blur effects and digital makeup color options. The filters are designed to match real-world Maybelline products and hues, allowing users to seamlessly apply makeup in real life.
Modiface, an augmented reality business, provided the artificial intelligence engine that powers the virtual filters. Modiface is considered as one of the most popular firms for virtual makeup experiences, and has previously been employed by Sephora and Estée Lauder. L’Oreal, Maybelline’s parent business, purchased Modiface in 2018, putting this popular technology under its umbrella.
Starting today, Microsoft Teams for Business customers will be able to access this new functionality via the “Video Effects” page. There is no news on whether it will be made available to all Microsoft Teams users for free at a later date.
Some may be surprised by the employment of beauty filters in business-oriented communication applications. However, there is also concern that beauty filters may be harmful to mental health by instilling false expectations of our bodies. However, consumers’ interest in such aspects may be desirable, particularly for those looking to improve their appearance.
