Apple has warned that sleeping next to a charging iPhone poses a risk of fire and injury.

Tech giant Apple has warned users not to sleep next to their iPhone while it is charging. According to this warning, users should not keep their phones or chargers under the pillow or near the bed. It also said that phones should be kept face up in a well-ventilated area while charging.

Putting the phone under the pillow while charging can increase the risk of fire!

The statement emphasized that prolonged skin contact with the charging cable and connector can cause discomfort and injury. For this reason, sitting or lying on the charging cable is also mentioned as a situation to be avoided. Stating that this warning can have serious consequences, the technology giant stated that people who charge the phone while sleeping at night are at risk of “fire, electric shock, injury or damage to iPhones”.

Especially if the phone is not well ventilated while charging, the risks increase even more. Placing a phone under a pillow is considered a particularly dangerous behavior, as it can cause the phone to overheat and even start a fire.

It also emphasized that the use of third-party chargers can increase the risk of fire. Apple said that the use of some third-party chargers that do not meet safety standards should be avoided, suggesting that users should opt for cables “made for iPhone”.

Along with this warning, users are reminded not to use their phones near water or other liquids while charging, and to replace damaged or non-functioning chargers immediately. Apple continues to issue such warnings to ensure the safety of users and prevent unwanted incidents.
