Bulutistan’s Global Growth Strategy: ‘ICT Cloud’ Brand Paves the Way

Bulutistan is accelerating its globalization journey with the “ICT Cloud” brand, embarking on a new era in its international operations.

As Turkey’s first major domestic and national cloud service provider, Bulutistan is speeding up its globalization steps with the “ICT Cloud” brand positioned for its foreign operations. Starting its global journey in Azerbaijan and then expanding its activities in Europe with the German operation, the company will manage its Middle East and Africa operations with an office to be opened in Dubai in the new year. In 2024, the company is preparing to enter the Saudi Arabian market with the “ICT Cloud” brand and the Kazakhstani market with the “Bulutistan” brand, aiming to grow in Continental Europe, the Middle East, and Saudi Arabia. The firm aims to add new routes to its globalization journey by establishing its presence in the UK by the end of 2024 and in the Asia Pacific (APAC) market at the beginning of 2025 under the ICT Cloud brand.

As global demand for cloud technologies, key to digital transformation, continues to rise, Turkish cloud market players are challenging global companies with their next-generation technology and products. Bulutistan, which started its first foreign expansion in 2021 with the goal of taking its role as Turkey’s first major domestic and national cloud service provider to the global stage, is beginning a new era in its foreign operations with the “ICT Cloud” brand. The company, which has shown rapid growth performance in Turkey with its developed technology and products, is taking on the representation of Turkey’s domestic and national strength in the global cloud technologies market with its increasing foreign operations.

ICT Cloud is targeting a 100% increase in foreign revenues

Bulutistan CEO Begim Başlıgil noted that they quickly gained significant recognition in Turkey with the Bulutistan brand, stating, “With our Bulutistan brand, we will manage our activities in Turkey and Central Asia, and with our ICT Cloud brand, we will manage our activities in the rest of the world. While we achieve an average growth of 300% every year in the Turkish market, our foreign revenues make up about 15% of our annual turnover. In 2024, while continuing to grow at the same pace in the Turkish market, we plan to increase our foreign revenues by 100%, bringing their share in our total turnover to around 30%.“

Creating an investment climate for new markets

Bulutistan is preparing to enter new markets with its ICT Cloud brand, which has brought dynamism to its foreign activities. Pointing to the increasing momentum of foreign activities in 2023, Başlıgil said, “Until 2021, we were providing services to companies abroad through our business partners. Our investment in Azerbaijan marked the beginning of a new era in our foreign operations. In 2023, we gained rapid growth momentum in the Azerbaijan market, signing agreements with six major holdings in the country. Our second foreign investment, the German operation, has made extraordinary progress despite being newly established. In the country, we started setting up our cloud node in Frankfurt and captured potential customer opportunities by establishing business partnerships with critical software and solution companies. On the other hand, we created an investment climate by establishing close relationships with potential customers in Kazakhstan. We reached over a hundred potential customers with our booth at the GITEX Fair. In light of these developments, we decided to establish a company in Kazakhstan.”

Preparing to step into the UK and Asia Pacific markets

Başlıgil spoke about the targets for foreign operations: “At the beginning of the year, we will start the new year with a company to be established in Dubai under the ICT Cloud brand. Through this company, we will manage our operations in the Middle East and Africa. In 2024, we will continue with the Bulutistan brand in the Kazakhstan market and other Central Asian countries we plan to enter. In the first quarter of 2024, we will establish our presence in the Saudi Arabian market under the ICT Cloud brand. In the near term, we will focus on expanding our German operation, conducted under the ICT Cloud brand, in Continental Europe, prioritizing German-speaking countries (DACH region), and growing in the Middle East and Saudi Arabian markets with the company we will establish in Dubai. 2024 will be a year when the number of our foreign partners increases, we start serving the region through our first cloud node in Europe, cloud node installations in Dubai are done, and rapid market penetration begins. We aim to expand our globalization journey, carried out under the ICT Cloud brand, to the UK by the end of 2024 and the Asia Pacific (APAC) markets at the beginning of 2025.“
