The new battery settings on the iPhone 15 clearly indicate when your battery is going low, the amount of charging cycles remaining, and when it’s time to replace it.
Apple has added a few additional settings for the iPhone 15 in response to criticism that the iPhone 14’s battery drained too quickly. According to X user Tech_Reve, as reported by MacRumors, the business provides more statistics on battery life with the iPhone 15 than previously.
You should be able to check the production date, time of first use, and number of charge cycles on your new iPhone 15’s battery by going to Settings – General – About. We believe this feature is limited to the new iPhones because we couldn’t discover it on older iPhones.
Users that enable this function will be able to obtain detailed information on how many charge cycles they have previously utilized, as well as determine when a dead battery needs to be replaced. Prior to this update, users had to enter “hacker mode” and search the iPhone’s analytics for the phrase “last_value_CycleCount” on their own.
With these information in hand, it’s simpler to understand why the Maximum Battery Capacity is declining quicker than the battery’s capacity. Apple is also making it easier for iPhone 15 customers to conserve battery life by including a new Charge Optimization option in the battery health and charging menu.
According to BGR’s Chris Smith, “when you limit (yourself) to charging to 80% all the time, of course you’re going to lose battery life.” However, if you frequently recharge your phone while it’s between 30% and 20%, the difference is negligible. However, limiting the battery from reaching 100% can extend battery life.”
Apple also anticipates that iPhone 15 owners will be more conscientious of their gadgets, as they will be more aware of how battery capacity affect their iPhones. There is currently no indication that Apple intends to extend these modifications to previous iPhone models, although no official announcement has been made.
