Dell is ending its major deal with VMware!

With this change, Dell lost its authority to sell VMware product licenses directly.

US-based technology giant Dell announced in November 2021 that it is ending its commercial agreement with VMware. This agreement coincides with VMware’s decision to become an independent company.

Dell’s decision was announced in a formal regulatory filing. This filing includes the formal termination of Dell’s collaboration agreement with Broadcom. One of the reasons for the termination is Broadcom’s new restrictions on the sale of VMware product licenses.

With this change, Dell lost the ability to sell VMware product licenses directly. This may have had a wider impact on the industry, as customers often find it more efficient to bundle licenses with hardware.

Dell said it is eager to continue its commitment to partner with Broadcom and emphasized that this decision is part of its efforts to adapt to the changing dynamics in the technology industry and better serve customers.
