HP is gearing up to introduce the world’s lightest 14-inch gaming laptop, the Omen Transcend 14, at CES 2024. This model weighs only 1.6 kg, closely resembling the size and lightness of an ultraportable device. In terms of performance, it is equipped with a 14th generation Intel Core Ultra 7 or Ultra 9 processor, 32GB DDR5 RAM, 2TB of storage, and RTX 4070 GPU support.
The laptop also features two USB-A and two USB-C ports (one with Thunderbolt 4 support) and a full-size HDMI 2.1 jack. Additionally, it offers an upgrade option for a Wi-Fi 7 card and Bluetooth 5.4. Gaming and live streaming performance are enhanced with a Meteor Lake chip and a dedicated NPU, while the 2.8K OLED panel provides a 120Hz refresh rate and delivers 500 nits of brightness with HDR.
The sound system is equipped with DTS:X Ultra speakers and audio quality tuned by HyperX. HP has paid attention to significant details for travel with this laptop, like USB-C power delivery. The device is expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2024, starting at $1,600.
