Apple has released iOS 17.1, the first major update since September. This update is compatible with iPhone Xs and newer models. The second and third generation iPhone SE models also support iOS 17.1.
The 5 most notable features that come with iOS 17.1 are as follows:
- AirDrop cellular connection support: Now when two connected iDevices leave the Wi-Fi area, you can continue AirDrop transfers over a cellular connection.
- Apple Music “Favorites”: The new “Favorites” feature added to Apple Music allows users to favorite artists, songs, albums and playlists. This allows the app to give you better music recommendations.
- StandBy Mode update: StandBy Mode has been updated with a new Settings menu that gives users more control over when the screen turns off.
- Dynamic Island indicator: Previously limited to iPhone 15 Pro, the dynamic island indicator is now available on all compatible iPhone models.
- Photo shuffle feature: Photo shuffle allows users to select images from a specific album for screen lock.
