Meta continues to add new AI-powered features to its products like Facebook and Instagram. As the latest of these innovations, the company has added an AI chatbot to the popular instant messaging app WhatsApp.
Artificial intelligence button discovered in WhatsApp beta
At the Meta Connect 2023 event earlier this year, the tech giant announced that it would be adding an AI chatbot to WhatsApp. This innovation was first rolled out to select users living in the US.
According to a report published by WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp beta includes an innovation for Android users. The new version includes a shortcut button in the ‘Chats’ section that provides quick access to Meta’s AI-powered chatbot without the need to scroll through the chat list.

However, this new AI chatbot is currently limited to a small number of users and there is no official word yet on when it will be generally available. The feature could be rolled out to a wider user base with future WhatsApp updates.
