Qualcomm’s forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is creating a buzz in the mobile technology community. According to a post by the reliable tech leaker @Tech_Reve, this chip will be produced using a 3nm manufacturing process and is expected to deliver a significant performance boost.
The Adreno 830 graphics unit that comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 allegedly scored 7200 points in the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme test. This is claimed to be 10% higher than the Apple M2, which features 8 GPU cores.
Additionally, the post claims that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 demonstrates strong CPU performance. It reportedly scored over 2000 points in Geekbench 5’s single-core test and 8600 points in the multi-core test.
While the post doesn’t provide screenshots to substantiate these claims, Qualcomm’s track record for delivering high-performance chips suggests that these assertions could hold some merit. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is anticipated to be unveiled late next year.
If these performance claims are accurate, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 could be a formidable competitor in the mobile chip market, potentially offering impressive graphics capabilities and CPU performance. This, in turn, might lead to exciting developments in future mobile devices.
