Which tech giant pays the highest salary?

Tech Giants’ Software Engineer Salaries Revealed: Meta Tops the List

Tech career site Blind has unveiled the salaries of software engineers at major tech giants, based on data collected from January 2022 to August 2023. The report sheds light on which of the industry giants pays its software engineers the most handsomely. Amazon, Apple, Google, Meta, and Microsoft are under the spotlight.

Entry-Level Compensation Rankings

For entry-level positions, Google claims the top spot for the highest average total compensation package by tenure. Meta follows closely behind, with Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft rounding out the rankings.

The average annual pay, encompassing salary, bonuses, and more, for entry-level positions is as follows:

  • Google: $184,000
  • Meta: $179,000
  • Amazon: $159,000
  • Apple: $142,000
  • Microsoft: $141,000

Total compensation includes salary, equity, and any bonuses.

Top Engineers’ Compensation

Meta emerges as the highest payer for top engineers, offering an average total compensation of $780,000. Amazon secures the second spot at $691,000, followed by Google at $655,000, with Apple and Microsoft both providing $500,000 in compensation.

Variation in Pay

Blind’s report highlights variations in pay among these tech giants. Amazon, while offering high salaries, can exhibit substantial discrepancies from one engineer to another due to its numerous pay ranges. Apple, while paying less than many others, stands out for its consistent and equitable pay ranges. Meta’s software engineers seem to experience the fastest advancement in their careers.
